The Lie: Perfection is the goal.
The Truth: Obedience is what pleases God.
Key Verse:
1 Samuel 15:22: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.”
Let’s Break This Down: Perfection is a prison dressed up as righteousness. It convinces us that if we’re not doing everything flawlessly, God must be disappointed.
But God didn’t call us to be flawless, He called us to be faithful.
He’s not after your polished performance; He’s after your surrendered yes. Real obedience doesn’t always look pretty. Sometimes it looks like shaking hands, a humble confession, or a quiet step forward in faith.
Today’s Detox Truth:
“God isn’t grading you, He’s guiding you.”
Reflection Prompt:
Where has the pursuit of perfection kept you from simply obeying?
What is one small act of obedience you can take today without fear of failure?
Challenge Check-In: Post a win in the chat, any size, where you chose obedience over perfection. Or encourage someone else who’s being brave today.
Final Word: Perfection pressures. Obedience frees. Choose the freedom.
I'm celebrating my obedience to Him with our combined ministries. It was/is a bit scary, but exciting and while not perfect, faithful.
